, who wanted to see Yen-Sid and Neal together. Once again, from the Sorcerers Apprentice Universe.
Takes place just before "Straight to You". On an outing with Neal, Wee little Yen-Sid picks his first fight when another boy calls his Papa a "Monster"...among other things. Big brother Bae is left trying to explain to his half brother how adults make mistakes too, and we love them no less for it (and the correct way to through a left hook).
My excuse to give Baelfire a parenting role. Its a shame Neal never got to be a proper father- I imagine he would be quite good at it.
On a side note, I've had many people ask if the Sorcerers Apprentice is written anywhere. to the best of my knowledge, no it is not; though with enough suggestions/requests i might take a stab sometime in the future.

We can regret Neal's passing all we want, but it won't bring him back. I'm sure to avoid confusion, Yen-Sid has been told to call Bae "uncle", even though they are technically brothers. Then again, Rumpel laid waste to his waspish harlot of a first wife over 300 years before Yen-Sid was born, so it would be pretty tough to explain it to him.
